What Halal-Friendly Means with Us
We choose lunch for every family we drive, based on the route, the setting and the food they want. Halal is one of those choices, not a special edition of the tour. In practice:
A halal lunch venue chosen for your route. We confirm it with you before the day, so you know where you are eating before you get in the car.
No wine. Nothing is poured and no tasting is booked. Where a published day includes tastings, we leave them out and give the time to something else.
One tick when you book. Under "Anything we should plan around?" choose Halal, and that covers both lunch and wine. If something else matters, from a grandparent who would rather avoid stairs to a child who needs to eat early, there is space to tell us.
A guide who is attentive to your family's needs without making assumptions. Every family is different. We ask ahead of the tour what matters to you, and we plan accordingly.

Each of these days comes with a halal lunch and no wine.
Cape Peninsula
Chapman's Peak, Cape Point and the Boulders Beach penguins, with a halal lunch on the way. There is no wine on this day to begin with.

Without the tastings, the day is the coast: Southern Right whales from the cliff paths between June and November, the Stony Point penguins, and Clarence Drive home.

Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. The published day is built around tastings. Without wine, we plan it around olive farms, cheese and the mountain passes between the towns.

Cape Town has one of the oldest Muslim communities in southern Africa, centred in the Bo-Kaap. It sits just above the city centre and is easy to walk on your own: Auwal Masjid, completed in 1794 as South Africa's first mosque, is on Dorp Street, and there are halal Cape Malay restaurants in the neighbourhood itself.
The kramats, the shrines of the Cape's early Muslim leaders, are spread around the peninsula, and reaching them takes a vehicle. If your family would like to visit them, tell us when you enquire and we will plan a day around them.
